LONDON (dpa-AFX) - Ultra Electronics Holdings Plc. (ULE.L) said its PMES business based in Rugeley, Staffordshire has been awarded a contract relating to the design and development of reactor control and cooling systems for Royal Navy submarines.
The 18 million pounds contract, awarded by Rolls-Royce, is the result of a successful, collaborative partnership between the two companies.
It will provide an important contribution to Rolls-Royce in its delivery of the next generation propulsion power system for the future submarine fleet.
Rakesh Sharma, CEO, said, 'We are delighted to have secured this new contract with the Royal Navy and Rolls Royce which recognises both Ultra's capability to understand its customer's needs and the confidence of the UK Navy in Ultra's ability. We also look forward to further enhancing our relationship with Rolls Royce.'
