EDEN PRAIRIE (dpa-AFX) - C.H. Robinson Worldwide Inc. (CHRW) announced a profit for its first quarter that rose from last year.
The company said its bottom line rose to $118.96 million, or $0.83 per share. This was higher than $106.48 million, or $0.73 per share, in last year's first quarter.
Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.82 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
The company said revenue for the quarter fell 7.0% to $3.07 billion. This was down from $3.30 billion last year.
