NEW YORK CITY (dpa-AFX) - Nasdaq OMX Group Inc. (NDAQ) released a profit for its first quarter that advanced from last year.
The company said its bottom line came in at $153 million, or $0.91 per share. This was up from $138 million, or $0.80 per share, in last year's first quarter.
Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.89 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
The company said revenue for the quarter rose 5.3% to $534 million. This was up from $507 million last year.
