WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) - DaVita HealthCare Partners Inc. (DVA) announced a profit for its first quarter that gained ground from last year.
The company said its bottom line totaled $190.43 million, or $0.92 per share. This was higher than $186.64 million, or $0.86 per share, in last year's first quarter.
Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.86 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
The company said revenue for the quarter rose 8.8% to $3.58 billion. This was up from $3.29 billion last year.
