LONDON (dpa-AFX) - Consumer confidence in the United Kingdom showed a bit of improvement in May but remained pessimistic, the latest survey from GfK revealed on Friday with an index score of -1.
That beat forecasts for -4 and was an improvement over April's -3, although it still was negative.
Expectations for the coming year remained a key drag, rising one point to a still weak -13.
Analysts suggest that the low index score is the results of uncertainty regarding the UK's potential exit from the European Union.
