WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) - Rockwell Automation Inc. (ROK) revealed earnings for third quarter that retreated compared to the same period last year.
The company said its profit totaled $203.1 million, or $1.55 per share. This was lower than $216.3 million, or $1.59 per share, in last year's third quarter.
Analysts had expected the company to earn $1.46 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
The company said revenue for the quarter fell 7.0% to $1.47 billion. This was down from $1.58 billion last year.
