WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) - Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (JEC) revealed a profit for third quarter that dropped compared to the same period last year.
The company said its profit came in at $94.83 million, or $0.78 per share. This was down from $121.16 million, or $0.97 per share, in last year's third quarter.
Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.75 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
The company said revenue for the quarter fell 7.6% to $2.69 billion. This was down from $2.91 billion last year.
