LONDON (dpa-AFX) - More than 300 passengers on-board a British Airways flight were asked 'not to rock the plane' while getting off after the flight was forced to make an emergency landing due to a landing gear failure.
A video has been released on social network that shows the terrifying moment of the British Airways being forced to make an emergency landing at Heathrow.
According to the officials, the landing gear on both wings failed mid-air after the lever to deploy the gear got stuck in the 'up position'. The plane was then forced to circle Heathrow to dump fuel before attempting to land.
A formal report says the incident occurred due to a mechanical error 'that caused incorrect rigging of the landing gear lever system after the landing gear control module had been replaced.'?
Passengers were then told to leave the plane 'very slowly' and 'not to rock the plane' as it could topple the plane over.
The passengers then had to wait for about nine hours before a replacement Boeing was scheduled to take them to the States.
