NEW YORK CITY (dpa-AFX) - The Bank of New York Mellon Corp. (BK) reported earnings for its third quarter that climbed from last year.
The company said its bottom line climbed to $979 million, or $0.90 per share. This was up from $828 million, or $0.74 per share, in last year's third quarter.
Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.81 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
The company said revenue for the quarter fell 99.9% to $3.93 million. This was down from $3.80 billion last year.
