WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) - Snap-on Inc. (SNA) Thursday announced an increase in third quarter net income to $131.7 million from $116.8 million in the previous year. On a per share basis, earnings rose to $2.22 from $1.98 last year. On average, 7 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $2.15 per share. Analysts estimates usually exclude special items.
For the quarter, revenue increased to $905.7 million from $882.6 million a year ago. Wall Street was looking for revenue of $847.83 million.
