BRUSSELS (dpa-AFX) - Belgium's consumer confidence improved for a second straight month in December to its strongest level in four months, survey data from the National Bank of Belgium showed Monday.
The consumer confidence index rose to -5 from -7 in November. The reading was the strongest score since August, when it was -4.
Fears of a rise in unemployment over the coming twelve months have again subsided sharply and the outlook for the general economic situation remains unchanged, the bank said.
Further, households predict only very minor changes in their personal situation. They expect their financial situation to get slightly worse, but plan to save more.
