WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) - President Donald Trump's daughter Ivanka Trump will leave for Germany next week on her first official international trip as the US presidential adviser.
Ivanka, First Daughter and Assistant to the President, will visit Berlin on April 25 at the direct invitation of Chancellor Angela Merkel to participate in the W20 Summit, the White House said. Ivanka will join a panel conversation with other women leaders regarding Women's Economic Empowerment and Entrepreneurship.
Ivanka's visit to Berlin stemmed from the roundtable on Vocational Education and Workforce Development she hosted with Chancellor Merkel at the White House in March. She will visit Siemens Technik Akademie for an interactive tour and discussion with program apprentices. In commemoration of Yom HaShoah, Ivanka will visit the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe in Berlin. She will also stop by the US Embassy in Berlin to meet Embassy staff.
The organizers of the summit said more than one hundred delegates from all G20 member states, including experts and high-ranking representatives from the world of politics, economics, international organizations and civil society will take part in it.
German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Queen Máxima of the Netherlands, Canadian Foreign Minister Chrystia Freeland, and IMF Director Christine Lagarde will speak in a key session.
The 35-year-old eldest daughter of Trump is serving as an unpaid adviser to the US President at the White House.
Ivanka's role is to serve as the president's 'eyes and ears' while providing broad-ranging advice, not just limited to women's empowerment issues.
She has already shared many high-profile platforms along with President Trump and world leaders.
Thursday, she was named in TIME magazine's 100 Most Influential People of 2017 list along with her father and her husband Jared Kushner, who also is a presidential adviser.
