WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) - A year after splitting from her husband Brad Pitt, Actress Angelina Jolie has announced that she is all set to return to acting new movies.
In an interview to the Hollywood Reporter at the Telluride film festival, the 42-year-old star said after taking over a year off because she had been 'needed at home,' she will do some acting now.
Referring to the latest film she directed, Jolie said, 'Right now I don't have anything to direct that I feel passionate about like this, so I hope (to work again) in the months to come.'
'First They Killed My Father' was screened at the Telluride film festival in Colorado, and received mixed response.
First They Killed My Father is a biographical historical thriller film based on Loung Ung's memoir about the genocide during the Khmer Rouge regime in Cambodia.
The Netflix film is Jolie's fifth as a director, and co-written by herself and Loung Ung.
When asked what would be her first project, Jolie said it would most likely be the sequel to her 2014 fantasy 'Maleficent'.
'Cleopatra, there is a script. There's a lot of different things floating around. But I haven't committed,' she added.
In a separate interview, Jolie said, 'It's been difficult. I don't enjoy being single. It's not something I wanted. There's nothing nice about it. It's just hard,' she told the Telegraph.
One of Hollywood's highest-paid actresses, Jolie separated from her third husband, actor Brad Pitt, on September 19, 2016, and filed for divorce. They have six children together, three of whom were adopted internationally.
