WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) - Twitter reportedly is testing a feature for easily composing tweetstorms that would help to distribute detailed content all at once.
As per reports, the current Android app includes a way to write out a tweetstorm and see it broken into distinct tweets, then tweet them all at once. A Twitter user, under the pseudonym Devesh Logendran, has discovered a hidden, experimental tweetstorm feature in Twitter's Android app that simplifies the process, the reports said.
Tweetstorms are chaining tweets, due to the 140 character limit, to tell a suspenseful story, or breaking news facts. Tweetstorms have been a Twitter power user trick since at least 2014, which was reportedly popularized by tech investor Marc Andreessen, and coined by fellow VC Chris Dixon.
In tweetstorms, users post tweets one at a time and reply to them in sequence. Instead of this, the new feature is said to help compose everything behind the scenes and share it all at once. With this, one will not have to worry about a broken sequence, or people replying to one's story before telling it fully.
As per reports, the feature is not available for public testing currently.
