WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) - Two baby boys were born on consecutive days in the parking lot of a Burger King in Denville, New Jersey.
Both expectant parents were en route to local hospitals for delivery when they had to make emergency stop at the fast-food restaurant.
The first expectant couples were on their way to nearby St. Clare's Hospital in Denville at around 7.30 pm on Friday. However, they were caught up in traffic jam caused by a fatal accident in Roxbury and had to make emergency stop at the Burger King parking lot when the woman began to experience contractions.
The police and Denville Fire Department First Aid Squad members assisted the woman.
On the next day, Saturday, the same patrol officers responded to the Burger King parking lot for another report of a woman going into labor. This couple was on their way to Morristown Medical Center when the woman began to experience severe contractions and had to pull into Burger King.
'I don't want to speak for the first aid squad who played a large part in the first birth, but the police officers are quite simply just happy that they could be of assistance to both of the families,' Capt. Keith Partin told the Daily Record.
