WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) - Dating app maker Hinge has launched a brand new standalone app called Hinge Matchmaker that allows a non-Hinge user to become matchmaker for their single friends by suggesting a match.
Using Hinge Matchmaker users can see all their Facebook friends who are currently on Hinge and suggest two of them who they think should meet. User's friends will each get a notification about the suggested match, which they can either follow or ignore.
By default, every users on Hinge will have their profile show up in Matchmaker app, but they have an option to opt-out.
'We found a lot of people who felt like they missed out on the dating app craze wanted to be able to participate in some way,' said Hinge founder Justin McLeod. 'A lot of times, people will pull out their friend's phone and swipe for them on other apps.'
