WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) - Salesforce (CRM) predicts this year's Black Friday to be the busiest digital shopping day in the U.S. history. The firm expects Black Friday to beat Cyber Monday for the second consecutive year.
The most popular time for e-commerce visits and orders is from 8pm to 10pm, the company said in statement.
Salesforce expects consumers to complete 50 percent of their holiday shopping by Sunday, December 3rd and 80 percent by Friday December 15th. Cyber Week-- from Thanksgiving to Cyber Monday-- will see the deepest discounts of an average of 28 percent off list price and highest rate of free shipping of 86 percent of all orders.
Mobile traffic to retail sites will grow to 60 percent of total across the globe this shopping season, while desktop will have only 34 percent and 5 percent for tablets. Orders placed on phones will approach 40 percent on big shopping days such as Black Friday.
Saleforce expects 7 to 10 percent of all iPhone orders to go through Apple Pay.
