CHARLOTTE (dpa-AFX) - Bank of America Corporation (BAC) reported a profit for its third quarter that climbed compared to the same period last year.
The company said its bottom line totaled $5.12 billion, or $0.48 per share. This was up from $4.45 billion, or $0.41 per share, in last year's third quarter.
Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.45 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
The company said revenue for the quarter rose 0.9% to $21.84 billion. This was up from $21.64 billion last year.
