WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) - Leaders of the Senate Health Committee revealed Tuesday they have reached an agreement on legislation to provide short-term stability to Obamacare.
Committee Chairman Lamar Alexander, R-Tenn., and ranking member Patty Murray, D-Wash., announced the bipartisan agreement.
The proposed bill would reportedly restore the Obamacare subsidies to insurers that President Donald Trump eliminated last week.
In exchange for two years of funding for the cost-sharing program, the bill would provide states more flexibility in how their Obamacare markets are run.
Asked about the news at a press conference with Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras, Trump called the deal a short-term solution that will 'get us over this intermediate hump.'
