MUNICH (dpa-AFX) - The European Commission Monday confirmed that its officials carried out inspections at the premises of car manufacturers in Germany.
Reports said that Volkswagen AG and Daimler AG were inspected by European Union antitrust investigators.
The Commission noted that the inspections were related to Commission concerns that several German car manufacturers may have violated EU antitrust rules that prohibit cartels and restrictive business practices. This followed an inspection that the Commission carried out last week. The Commission officials were accompanied by their counterparts from the German national competition authority.
