BRUSSELS/FRANKFURT/PARIS (dpa-AFX) - French stocks eked out modest gains on Friday amid easing trade tensions as China refrained from detailing retaliation plans against the latest U.S. tariffs.
The benchmark CAC 40 was up 23 points or 0.44 percent at 5,429 in opening deals after climbing 1 percent in the previous session.
Amid little economic news, traders looked forward to earnings results from U.S. financial giants for direction.
