BRUSSELS/FRANKFURT/PARIS (dpa-AFX) - U.K. stocks recouped early losses to turn flat on Monday as resource stocks gained ground despite worries over slowdown in China.
The British pound drifted lower against the dollar and euro as investors looked ahead to the next key Brexit debate in the House of Commons scheduled for Tuesday.
The benchmark FTSE 100 was little changed at 6,803 in opening deals after closing 0.1 percent lower on Friday.
Miners Anglo American and Glencore were up around 1 percent.
Online grocer Ocado jumped nearly 4 percent and Marks & Spencer advanced 1.8 percent after reports they held secret talks over the launch of a food delivery service.
Energy services company Wood Group slid half a percent after raising US$28mln from sale of non-core assets.
Supermarket chain Tesco dropped 1 percent on the buzz it may cut thousands of jobs in the U.K.
