PARIS (dpa-AFX) - Getlink SE (GRPTY) or Groupe Eurotunnel, the operator of the Channel Tunnel, said on Thursday that it reported a rise in revenue for the first quarter, amidst a strong rebound in passenger traffic after lifting travel restrictions.
For the first quarter of the fiscal 2022, the Paris-based firm reported a revenue of 227.8 million euros, compared with a recalculated figure of 156 million euros, reported for the same period a year ago.
Getlink's Eurotunnel Shuttle revenue recorded at137.6 million euros as against a recalculated revenue of 88.9 million euros reported for the previous year quarter.
The company's revenue from railway net work also move up to 52 million euros, from a recalculated revenue of 33.1 million euros, on year-on-year basis. This rise reflects a firm upturn in the number of Eurostar travelers since the lifting of testing requirements in February.
The Group also said it proposes a dividend double the level of the fiscal 2021.
