DUISBURG (dpa-AFX) - Klöckner & Co (KCO) Thursday said it has delivered an initial tranche of 40 metric tons of green steel to two Siemens plants in Germany.
The Carbon-di-oxide emission during the production of green steel stands 80% lower compared with conventional steel.
The companies intend to expand their partnership while Siemens aims to access large quantities of CO2-reduced steel from Klöckner.
Under Nexigen, Klöckner offers CO2-reduced solutions in the areas of materials, operations and logistics.
Additionally, the company intends to reduce emissions at every link in the value chain to net zero by 2050 in line with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).
