Paris, France--(Newsfile Corp. - July 10, 2025) - Sequans Communications S.A. (NYSE: SQNS), a leading provider of cellular IoT semiconductors, today announced the acquisition of 370 bitcoin as part of its newly launched bitcoin treasury strategy. The purchase was funded using an initial portion of the net proceeds from the Company's recent offering of ordinary shares and convertible debentures, which closed on July 7, 2025.
"We are excited to begin executing our strategic plan to accumulate over 3,000 BTC in the coming weeks," said Georges Karam, CEO of Sequans. "This initiative reflects our confidence in bitcoin as a long-term store of value for our shareholders"
To support this initiative, Sequans has selected Coinbase (NASDAQ: COIN) as custodian. Sequans will leverage Coinbase Prime, a secure, full service prime brokerage platform; combining deep liquidity and institutional-grade custody built atop the infrastructure that institutions need to power their crypto strategies.
"Coinbase Prime is proud to power Sequans' strategic treasury framework, providing a secure, compliant, and scalable platform for their digital asset needs," said Ryan Ballantyne, Head of Coinbase's Corporate Treasury Strategy. "As institutions expand into the onchain economy, they need more than a partner - they need a trusted platform that leads with transparency, efficiency, and regulated infrastructure. Coinbase is pleased to support Sequan's BTC initiatives as a selected partner."
