BRUSSELS (dpa-AFX) - The Netherlands' retail sales growth eased for the third straight month in February, according to data published by the Central Bureau of Statistics on Thursday.
Retail turnover adjusted for shopping days rose 1.3 percent annually in February, slower than the 1.6 percent increase in January.
Moreover, this was the slowest growth in the current sequence of expansion that began in July 2024.
Sales of non-food products alone advanced 1.2 percent from last year, and turnover in the food sector increased by 1.4 percent, with sale at supermarkets rising by 1.6 percent, while in specialty shops it grew by 0.1 percent.
Data showed that online retail sales were 3.4 percent higher compared to last year.
