OTTAWA (dpa-AFX) - CGI Inc. (GIB, GIB-A.TO), an IT and business consulting services firm, on Wednesday reported higher net income in the second quarter of fiscal year 2026 compared with the previous year, driven by the resilience of its business model, strong client relationships, and continued demand for its services despite a dynamic business environment.
For the second quarter, net income increased to C$444.7 million from C$429.7 million in the previous year.
Earnings per share were C$2.09 versus C$1.89 last year.
Adjusted net income jumped to C$483.4 million from C$480.7 million in the prior year.
Adjusted earnings per share were C$2.27 versus C$2.12 last year.
Revenue increased to C$4.16 billion from C$4.02 billion in the previous year.
On April 28, the board approved a quarterly cash dividend of $0.17 per share, payable on June 19, to shareholders of record as of May 15.
On Tuesday, CGI closed trading 0.46% higher at C$100.64 on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
