LONDON (dpa-AFX) - InterContinental Hotels Group PLC (IHG, IHG.L) on Tuesday reported a rise in earnings and revenue for fiscal 2025. In addition, the company has raised its annual dividend and noted that it anticipates a stronger demand in 2026.
For the 12-month period to December 31, 2025, the Group posted a pre-tax income of $1.074 billion, compared with $897 million a year ago. Net profit was $759 million as against the prior year's $628 million. Basic earnings per share stood at 490.9 cents, higher than 389.6 cents per share a year ago.
Excluding items, earnings were 501.3 cents per share, compared with 432.4 cents per share in 2024.
Operating profit moved up to $1.198 billion from $1.041 billion in the previous year.
Total revenue increased to $5.189 billion from last year's $4.923 billion. System fund and reimbursable revenues were $2.721 billion, compared with $2.611 billion in the previous year.
Revenue from reportable segments was $2.468 billion, higher than $2.312 billion a year ago. This was driven by a combination of system and RevPAR growth, together with incremental fees from previous changes in the arrangements related to the US co-brand credit card arrangements and from the sale of certain loyalty points.
For fiscal 2025, the Board will pay a final dividend of 125.9 cents per share, which will bring the total dividend for the year to 184.5 cents per share, representing an increase of 10% from fiscal 2024. The final dividend will be paid on May 14 to shareholders of record as of April 10.
In addition, the Group said: 'Looking ahead to 2026, less turbulent trading conditions in the US and stronger demand are expected for the industry. Research and consumer surveys point to continued prioritisation of spend on travel, and business surveys indicate expectations for increasing corporate travel budgets in 2026. Economic growth and investment, stable employment, favourable tax policies and the anticipated further easing of interest rates are all expected to support this. Major events such as the FIFA World Cup will add additional demand.'
